This course is designed to explore different strategies and instructional approaches to bring STEAM into the classroom. Teachers will learn to recognize the role STEAM plays in the classroom. Teachers will learn ways for students to get exposure to hands-on learning that challenges them to think critically and creatively, and lets them apply important content knowledge in meaningful ways.
The course is targeted for educators in the K-12 grade levels, including special education, counselors, administration, sports coaches, and instructional coaches.
STEAM is a movement championed by Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and widely adopted by schools, institutions, corporations, and individuals.

I have been building course curriculum for 22 years as a teacher and online professor.I have over 22 years of K-12 education experience. I have been a principal at all levels K-12. I have a K-8 teaching, K-12 principal, and K-12 superintendent license.My degrees include:BA in liberal studies with a concentration in childhood development from California State University, StanislausMEd. in elementary education from Utah State UniversityMEd. in educational leadership and administration from Idaho State UniversityA doctorate in educational leadership with a concentration in curriculum and instruction from University of MontanaI have taught in elementary and middle school. In addition, I am the Lead Faculty/Area Chair for an online College of EducationI have worked in the trenches for many years and have perfected this course to help you feel more confident and effective with teaching and learning.
